With nearly 30 years’ experience in the real estate sector, Yousuf Kazim has enjoyed an extensive and diverse career with some of the region’s most prestigious developers, managing their most ambitious projects.
Kazim has held a series of high profile management positions across the UAE, spending 14 years with Dubai Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation before being appointed as a Senior General Manager of Nakheel, to oversee key developments including Jumeirah Park, Jumeirah Village and Jumeirah Island.
Kazim was rewarded with increased management opportunities through his tenure with Nakheel, and left in 2013 as Managing Director, before taking the helm at Jumeirah Golf Estates, leading the business to exhibit impressive and sustained levels of growth, whilst creating a vibrant and thriving community for residents and visitors alike.
Executive Director - Corporate Services, Jumeirah Golf Estates
Abdulaziz Bukhatir has been heavily involved in senior financial management for more than twenty years, when he began his highly industrious and successful career with the UAE Ministry of Economy and Commerce as Head of the Foreign Company Department in 1994. He graduated in Business Administration and Commerce at the University of UAE a year earlier and in 1995 joined.
DP World – Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, managing accounts across the entire group. Bukhatir worked for nearly two decades with Dubai World and then began in 2007 with Nakheel as an Assistant Development Director. Over the next five years, he worked his way up to the position of Executive Director of Finance before joining Jumeirah Golf Estates.
Managing Director of Club Operations, Jumeirah Golf Estates
As Managing Director, Club Operations, Julian is at the helm of Jumeirah Golf Estates’ social and community direction, focusing on the continued development as a truly world-class residential golf destination.
During his early career, Small was Banqueting Manager at the iconic London hotel, The Savoy, before joining London-based Stanhope Properties, where he led hospitality management elements in the significant regeneration projects at Broadgate in the City of London and Stockley Park, Heathrow.
In 1996, Small was appointed as Chief Executive of Wentworth Club and has overseen the evolution of the business into the world-renowned lifestyle club it is today. During his tenure, Wentworth hosted over 40 professional golf tournaments on the European Tour – an accolade that positions him well to support Jumeirah Golf Estates’ role as the host venue of the DP World Tour Championship, The Season Finale of the European Tours, Race to Dubai. Alongside his role as the Chief Executive of Wentworth Club, Small was a member of the Wentworth Residents’ Association and Estate Executive Committee for 10 years. He is also a trustee of the charity, Children with Special Needs Foundation.
Director of Projects & Development, Jumeirah Golf Estates
Jamal Massarweh has over 30 years’ experience in project management including asset maintenance, having been employed by state-owned companies including Nakheel, the Middle East’s largest real estate developer, Massarweh successfully completed many projects from concept to hand-over.
Massarweh commenced his engineering career after graduating in 1984 with an Honours degree from the University of Sheffield in England. He went on to work as an Engineer in his home country of Jordan, before moving to the UAE in 1989 where
he worked for nearly 20 years with Dubai World – Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, progressing through the company to Senior Manager of Projects level. During this time Massarweh had overall responsibility for a team of engineers and over 170 maintenance staff working on multiple projects including the construction and maintenance of buildings, infrastructure, factories and warehouses.
In 2008, Massarweh moved to Nakheel as a Senior Development Manager where he was responsible for project development and execution, including the construction and delivery of over 700 residential units.
Massarweh was appointed Projects Director at Jumeirah Golf Estates in 2015, where he has full responsibility for the delivery of luxury villas, apartments and associated infrastructure Works.
Executive Director – Commercial, Jumeirah Golf Estates
Alya Mahdy is a seasoned real estate professional and brings with her more than 15 years of local and international experience to her current role at Jumeirah Golf Estates. Mahdy began her UAE career with master developer Nakheel in Dubai, where she was rapidly promoted to Commercial Director.Leading a team of more than 45 staff members, Mahdy assumed responsibility for sales, sales operations, valuation and pricing, delegations and marketing. During her seven-year tenure at Nakheel, she innovated pricing and valuation strategies and identified new commercial opportunities that delivered solid growth for the business.
In 2011, Mahdy joined Chain Holding in Abu Dhabi as Head of Commercial and Operations. Overseeing the entire commercial operations of the firm and its subsidiaries, she established and led the implementation of a number of strategies to penetrate and facilitate debt recovery in a stalled real estate market.
Mahdy joined Jumeirah Golf Estates in 2014 where she was tasked with leading and managing a robust commercial division in order to give the company the agility to continue to thrive and adapt to the changing market landscape.
In 2015, Mahdy obtained an MBA from Hult International Business School, Dubai, UAE.
Director of Asset Management,Leasing and Infrastructure,Jumeirah Golf Estates
Bringing a wealth of industry experience and comprehensive knowledge in asset management, operations and project management spanning over 17 years to his role, Amer Kalantar is the lead of Jumeirah Golf Estates’ asset management, leasing and infrastructure development function.
Appointed in May 2016, Amer manages the performance and development of Jumeirah Golf Estates’ assets, to further enhance the leading residential golf community’s fast-paced development and business operations.
Prior to joining Jumeirah Golf Estates, Amer was Director Supply Chain & Special Projects at Inaya Facilities Management Services LLC, after a period as Director of Operations with the organization. Amer has also held senior roles at Nakheel as Head of Administration & Facilities Management in the late 2000s, and prior to this, with telecommunications corporation, Etisalat.
Amer is a member of the Middle East Facility Management Association, the Society of Engineers, as well as being a Certified Measurement & Verification Professional and Certified Facility Management.
Director of Procurement & Contracts,Jumeirah Golf Estates
Amr Nabil is a highly experienced professional, with over 30 years’ experience in strategically managing projects, with multi-disciplinary teams of varying sizes. With a background in project management and strategic development, Nabil has a track record of ensuring projects are delivered to the highest quality and within budget, by effectively organizing, managing and utilising all resources.
Graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Structural Section) in Egypt, Nabil later obtained a Master of Science in Civil Engineering, specializing in Project Management from Georgia Institution of Technology, Atlanta in 1990. Starting his career in Egypt as a Site Engineer, Nabil progressed to hold positions in Egypt, Mexico, KSA, Qatar and UAE.
As Director of Procurement & Contracts at Jumeirah Golf Estates, Nabil’s role involves identifying, analyzing and solving problems to increase customer satisfaction and control cost through his program development expertise; whilst resolving complex project challenges strategically and maximize company’s potential.
Esam Hasan Saleh
Executive Director – Business Development and Property Management,Jumeirah Golf Estates
Esam Hasan Saleh has over 25 years of experience in property management, including, leasing, facility, infrastructure, owner’s association, community managements and community development.
Esam has worked with a number of Government owned companies, including Dubai Ports Authority, Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation and Nakheel before joining Jumeirah Golf Estates to work as Executive Director – Asset Management Leasing & Infrastructure for 3 years and currently holding the position of Executive Director – Business Development and Property Management in Jumeirah Golf Estates and he holds Post Graduate Diplomas in “Business Management”, “Strategic Management and Leadership” and a Master Degree in Business Administration with Accounting and finance background.
Saleh is currently responsible for all Leasing, Joint Ventures and Investments in addition to Business Development which includes securing amenities, hospitality and retail components for Jumeirah Golf Estates.
Ahmed Obaid Al Othman
Executive Director of Development & Planning,Jumeirah Golf Estates
In a career spanning nearly 20 years, Ahmed Obaid Al Othman has held some of the most senior positions among Dubai’s most prestigious organisations, including four years as General Manager of Dubai Promenade at Nakheel. Al Othman graduated from UAE University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and returned to education in 2008 to complete an Executive MBA from the University of Sharjah.
A member of the Society of Engineers, UAE, Al Othman began his working life as a Civil Engineer with the Ministry of Health before taking on the Engineering Officer role with Sharjah Airport International Freezone in 1999.
In 2003, he joined Nakheel as Procurement Engineer for some of the largest projects in the company’s portfolio. In July 2005, Al Othman was promoted to General Manager of Nakheel, where he oversaw multi-billion dirham developments across Dubai’s residential, commercial and retail sectors. He then went on to become Nakheel’s Director of the Palm Mall Jumeirah and Director of Investment fund before joining Jumeirah Golf Estates as Executive Director of Development and Planning in 2010.
